He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 24th, 1947. During the Vietnam War, James bravely served his country in the United States Navy from September 1966 to June 1970.
James's love and devotion to his family were unparalleled. He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Nancy; his cherished daughter, Annie Gabriella; his son, Andrew James; and his companion, Samantha Stocklmeier. James is also survived by his sister, Ann Palmer; his mother-in-law, Mary Ann; his nephew, Tom Palmer, and his spouse, Heather, and their children, Lena and Maya. James served in combat during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Columbus, where his valor and dedication earned him the New York State Medal for Merit. In July of 2023, James's enduring legacy was further honored when the New York State Military Museum and Veterans Research Center graciously accepted his artifacts and wartime uniforms for display, ensuring that his contributions and sacrifice would be remembered and celebrated for future generations.
James and his sister Ann are big fans of the New York Rangers hockey team. They hope the Rangers will bring home the Stanley Cup this year.
