Jane Ellen Lauria

October 24, 1949 ~ January 8, 2026

Jane Ellen Lauria, 76, of New Windsor, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Born and raised in Bronxville, Jane graduated from Maria Regina High School. She went on to dedicate 28 years of service as a Teaching Assistant in the Newburgh City Enlarged School District before retiring in 2013.

Jane found immense joy in spending time with her family and her circle of loyal, long-term friends. Her favorite thing to do was to cheer on her grandchildren at their basketball games. She was known for her quiet strength, kindness, sharp sense of humor, and her ability to make everyone around her feel seen and cared for.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Michael Lauria; son Michael Lauria and daughter-in-law Meredith Lauria; daughter Kelly Lauria; brother-in-law Dominick Lauria and sister-in-law Debi Lauria. She also leaves behind her niece Jaclyn Maneri and husband Anthony Maneri; nephews Matthew Lauria and wife Jill Lauria, and Alex Lauria. Jane's beloved grandchildren—Shane Lauria, Ruby Lauria, Ryan Cameron, and Kiley Cameron—held a special place in her heart and they in turn adored her.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, John and Mildred Richards; her father- and mother-in-law, Michael and Mildred Lauria; and her cherished cousin and friend, Donna DiChiaro.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 11:00am, at Sacred Heart Church – St. Mother Teresa Parish, located at 301 Ann Street, Newburgh, NY.
