Jeffrey "Lateek" Thompson, 67, of Newburgh, New York, passed away on February 18, 2026. Born on May 19, 1958, in Beacon, New York, Jeffrey lived a life in Newburgh, New York, marked by determination and style that left an indelible impression on those who knew him.

Jeffrey was the beloved son of Carolyn Thompson and the late Millard Thompson. He shared his life with his siblings Kathy Miller, Loretta Stokes, Anita Royal-Thompson, Joey Thompson, and the late Dorothea Thompson. A devoted father, he is survived by his children Lateek Thompson, La-Asia Baldwin, Lakeem Thompson, Asurue Thompson, Kara Thompson, Asirpel Thompson, and Mylika Thompson. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Lakeem Thompson, Na'ila Baldwin, Aamirah Thompson, Sophia Rivera, Ka'mil Thompson, Asirpel Thompson Jr., Danahjay Thompson, and Salah Thompson; Zaire Burroughs; as well as his great-grandchildren Lakeem Thompson Jr. and Leia Thompson.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his wife Kim Green-Thompson; his son U-Sunda Thompson; his grandson Ihssan Baldwin; and his sister Dorothea Thompson. Despite these profound losses in his life, Jeffrey remained steadfast in his love for family and the values he held dear.

Known for being headstrong and impeccably dressed at all times, Jeffrey, enjoyed vacationing to St, Marteen throughout his life and weekly trips to NYC. He also had a deep interest in real estate—a field that fascinated him endlessly. Jeffrey approached life with enthusiasm and determination.

Jeffrey's presence will be deeply missed by those who truly loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends as they reflect on the moments they shared with him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 2:00 ~ 4:00pm at the Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY.
