Jesus B. Pacquing, MD, 82, of Newburgh passed away on December 19, 2023.
Jesus was born on December 7, 1941 in Cebu City, Philippines to Isabelo and Carmen (Blancas) Pacquing. He had five siblings: Praxedes Pacquing Flores, Luis Pacquing, Isabelo Pacquing Jr., Arce Pacquing, and Roman Pacquing. Jesus graduated from Manila Central University Medical School in April 1970. He met his wife Andromida Sibayan in medical school. After graduation, they married in June 1970, immigrated to Guyana and settled in New York. He completed Anesthesiology in 1976 at Kings Brook Jewish Hospital Medical Center in New York City.
He was a devoted Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Specialist at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for over thirty years. Jesus was a devout Catholic. He always encouraged his family to "Do your best and let God do the rest." His passions included golf, karaoke, Bible studies, and family. Friends and family know him best as "Packy, Dockey, Susing, Jess, Dad, and Lolo." He loved to sing, dance, and eat his wife's Filipino food and steaks. One of his favorite songs to sing was Louie Armstrong's " It's a Wonderful World." Working at the hospital "Packy" was always smiling and happy.
Jesus is survived by his loving wife, Andromida; his children, Maricar Pacquing and Joe Pfeister, Jesus Pacquing Jr. (JP), and James Pacquing; and his grandsons, Jameson and Miles Pfeister.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday morning, December 22 at 10 AM, prior to visitation, which will follow on Friday evening from 4 - 7 PM at Brooks Funeral Home.
