Jesus Rafael "Junior" Valenzuela Jr., 48, of Newburgh New York, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Syracuse. Born on June 23, 1977, in Newburgh, New York, Junior brought warmth and laughter to those around him throughout his life.
Junior earned his GED and went on to work in a variety of roles that reflected his hardworking spirit and versatility. He contributed his skills as a plumber and worked for a medical facility. He also delivered donuts and worked with tow trucks—always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.
He was deeply devoted to his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with them. Though he loved all his children dearly, it was his grandchildren who truly lit up his world. Known for his caring nature and playful sense of humor, Junior had a gift for making people laugh. His presence brought comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
Junior is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Valenzuela of Syracuse; sons Daniel Valenzuela of Syracuse and Jesus R. Valenzuela III and wife Naomi of Arizona; daughters Alicia Brown of Syracuse and Katelyn Valenzuela of Newburgh; son Niko Valenzuela and wife Alicia of Newburgh. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren who were the light of his life.
He is also survived by sibling's sister Elania and Charles Patterson of Newburgh; sister Heather and Eddie Mitzner of Wallkill; Brother Julius and Julie Riglioni of Plattekill; sister Lois Riglioni of Maine; sister Jessica Riglioni of Albany; brother Jason Riglioni and Jessica of New Windsor, along with his mother-in-law Mary Shue of Newburgh. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly, as well as a special uncle, Antonio Valenzuela of Goshen Ny.
Junior was predeceased by his father Lupi Valenzuela; mother Marie Riglioni; stepfather Julius Riglioni; brothers George Valenzuela and Dave Valenzuela; sister Christina Valenzuela; and his grandparents.
A Christian by faith, Junior lived with love at the center of everything he did. His legacy lives on through the laughter he shared, the love he gave so freely, and the family he cherished above all else.
A visitation will be held on Saturday July 26th from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm.
