Joan Elaine (Davis) Bowen entered into rest on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. The daughter of the late Earl Edward Davis I and Gertrude (McDowell) Davis Marchie, she was born April 18, 1935 in Newburgh, NY.
Joan was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and worked as a Bookkeeper for Schoonmaker's Store, and as an Assistant and Aide for Leptondale Elementary School for over 30 years.
She is survived by her brother William (Gen) Davis; her children Bonnie (Reggie) Rowe, Pam (Vinnie) Denisi, Brenda (Ricky) Monroe, and April Gulak; her grandchildren: Sarah (Floyd) Burger, Jason (Blair) Monroe, Danielle Monroe, Shannon Rowe, Christina (Tom) Young, Richard (Kaitlyn) Rowe, Andrew (Samantha) Gulak, Joan Rowe, Charles Gulak,(Debbie) Rowe, Rebecca (Todd) Fritz, Concetta Denisi, Lauren (Matt) Garrison, Vincent Denisi; her great-grandchildren: Wesley, Cy and Jase Young, Jayden and Bayliana Monroe, Camari Melvin and Treyson Norville, Brenden Beltempo, Kyle, Charles, and Elijah Rowe, Aurora Rowe, and Lily Gulak, Carrie Hazard, Jordan Rowe, Liam Fritz, Samantha, Nathaniel, Kathleen and Vanessa Garrison; and many nieces and nephews including her caregiver nieces Joyce and Jessica Hoffman; and her special dear friend Carol Graham.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edgar Bowen; her brother Earl Edward Davis II; and sisters Lilian Riglioni, Helen Sayles, Gloria Hansen, Dorothy Davis and Nira Gerkin; her grandson Reginald; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, December 1 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 2 at St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
