Joan M. "Joni" Reil

September 11, 1935 ~ June 4, 2025

Joan M. Reil entered into the light June 4th at Westchester Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 89 years old. Joan was the daughter of Edna and Joseph Unger.

She was a graduate of the Barbizon school on Fifth Avenue in New York City and pursued a career as a high fashion model.

Joan worked for 19 years at JCPenney as a sales associate and Assistant Department Manager in cosmetics. She retired after several years working in fine jewelry at Sears. In 1989 she opened "Joni's Beauty Center" on Route 9W as part of the Boutique Spa.

Survivors include her son; Steve Reil, cousin; Diane (Jack) Edwards and their beautiful family in Florida. She was predeceased by her husband William.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 12th at Our Lady of the Lake, Lakeside Rd, Newburgh, NY 12550. E ntombment will follow at Cedar Hill Mausoleum, 5468 Rt. 9W, Newburgh, NY 12550.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Habitat for Humanity in Joni's name.
