Joan Thiele, an extraordinary Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Teacher, Pianist, Swimmer, Gardener, and "Exceptional Force" passed away on June 22nd. She dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to teaching in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, leaving a lasting legacy and impact on her students and colleagues.
Born into this world October 12th, 1942, Joan approached life with an infectious sense of humor, bringing joy to all those around her. Her quick wit and laughter brightened even the darkest of days. Joan's love and devotion knew no bounds.
She leaves behind three children who were the center of her world: Dr. Steven Thiele and his wife Karolina; beloved daughters Jennifer and Erica Thiele; Her brother Robert Torielli and his wife Marta; Loving nieces and nephews: Theresa Franzke, John Torielli, Sophia Murphy and Dennis Torielli. Her six grandchildren: Patrick Thiele and his wife Nicole, Palmer Thiele and his wife Katie, Tyler Thiele and his wife Amanda, Alyssa Maxwell and her husband Kyle, Alexander and Maxwell Thiele; Great-grandchildren: Luke, Isla, Kennedy, and Easton, and canine-companion Ella Rose, who brought an extra sparkle to her eyes.
In honor of Joan Thiele, a funeral Mass will be held on Saturday June 24th, at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, NY. Following the Mass, an intimate-chapel ceremony will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, where we will gather to bid our final farewell and lay Joan to rest.
We invite all friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Joan's remarkable spirit to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating the love and laughter she brought to our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Hope For Paws - Animal Rescue in honor of Joan's love for animals at www.hopeforpaws.org.
