JoAnne Bowen Wall, a longtime Orange County resident, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 19, 2026. She was 88 years old. Daughter of the late Harry E. Bowen and Maggie (Miller) Bowen, she was born in Windsor, NC on November 7, 1937.

JoAnne married Harold, the love of her life, on July 2, 1955, the summer before her senior year at Cradock High School in Portsmouth, VA. Together they raised four children and always had a home full of love and laughter. JoAnne's unwavering love and motherly devotion to her family will be deeply missed, but the warmth, compassion, and strength she instilled in her children and grandchildren will continue to live on through her memory.

Survivors include her son, Al (AnnMarie) Wall Jr., and three daughters: Sherri (David) Broadhead, Vicki (Emil) Pignetti, and Luanne (John) Cinotti. Affectionately known as "Nanny," JoAnne leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Ashley (Ismael) Cruz, Emil Pignetti IV, Kristin Gilpatrick, Brian Wall, Steven (Jaqueline) Broadhead, Tom (Allie) Cinotti, and Taylor Cinotti. She is further survived by her in-laws, Reginald and Linda Wall, Jewell Wall, and Betty Wall, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Alton "Harold" Wall Sr.; her brother, Freddy Bowen; her in-laws, Nathan A. Wall Jr., Arnold Wall, Gerald Wall, and Joyce and Robert Radford; and her granddaughter, Lauren Broadhead.

JoAnne loved sitting by the ocean and watching and listening to the waves; we will forever cherish our last family trip to the Outer Banks with her in August. She was known for her famous potato salad, always had peppermints tucked in her purse, and believed no meal was complete without dessert, even if it was just a cookie – our family gatherings will never quite be the same without her!

Visitation will be held from 11AM – 1PM Tuesday, February 24th at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550. A Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 1PM on Tuesday. Interment will be held at Cemetery of The Highlands in Highland Mills, NY.
