John Anthony Cadden

May 2, 1945 ~ April 3, 2024

John "Bunny" Cadden, a 51-year resident of the Town of Newburgh, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Dominick Cadden and Rose Cadden, nee Smith. He was born May 2, 1945, in Loughduff, County Cavan, Ireland.

He married the love of his life, Geri "Ma" Cadden on October 14, 1967. They were married 49 years at the time of her passing in 2017. Together they raised five strong, independent, and loving children.

Bunny was a devout member of St. Patrick's Parish/Our Lady of the Lake Chapel.

He is survived by Rose Cadden Ferguson (Newburgh, NY) and her children Eric and his wife, Drea and Jessica, Jack and Robin Cadden (Longwood, FL) and their daughters Megan and Bailey and her husband, JonKarl, Patrick and Michele Cadden (Stormville, NY) and their children Marijane and Sean, Teresa and Tina Odell (Cornwall, NY) and their children Nicholas and Samantha and Brian Cadden (Hamburg, NY) and his children Paige and Brooke. And his two great-granddaughters Emilia and Sienna Ferguson, his brothers, Paddy Cadden, Larry and Mairead Cadden, Dominick and Gay Cadden, Gerry and Mary Cadden, Jim and Maura Cadden and Martin Cadden. His sisters Anne Smith and Bridie and Jack Yorke All of Ireland. He will be missed by a multitude of nieces and nephews in Ireland, Dubai, Australia, New Zeeland, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Mary, his sister-in-law, Philomena and his brother-in-law, Sean.

There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Dan Leghorn Firehouse, 426 South Plank Rd, Newburgh.
