John Galusha

February 8, 1949 ~ April 4, 2025

John "Jack" Galusha entered eternal rest in Palm Coast, Florida, on April 4, 2025, aged 76 years old. He was born in Newton, NJ on February 8, 1949, and was the son of the late Dorothy Singer and Eugene Galusha.

Jack, obsessed with being a pilot from a young age, earned a B.S. in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach, Florida in 1971. For the next decade, he worked for several outfits as a pilot, both stateside and internationally, before marrying his beloved wife, Rebecca Galusha, in Cleveland, OH in 1980.

Three years later, they settled in Newburgh, New York, and eventually built a vacation home in Palm Coast, Florida, where they spent much of their time relaxing by the pool or cruising the intracoastal on his fishing boat.

Jack was employed as a pilot for most of his life. He retired from UPS in 2013, where he was a captain for over 30 years. John spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and going on long runs.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, their two sons, Jack and Jeffrey, two stepsons, L.R. Hunley and Kevin Hunley, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Kenny.

Family and friends are invited to Brooks Funeral Home at 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, New York from 1PM to 4PM on April 26, 2025, for a celebration of Jack's life.
