Josephine Marie Catania

December 24, 1936 ~ February 27, 2024

Josephine Catania, born on December 24, 1936, passed away on February 27, 2024, surrounded by family at 87 years old. Josephine was born in Lomita, CA, to the late James and Virginia Catania. She was a longtime Newburgh resident and graduate of NFA.

Josephine is survived by her sister Geraldine Catania, her five children, Jo Ann Pucino, Virginia Sandoval, Christine (Winston) Lewis, Richard (Vanessa) Pucino, and Sharon Joyce. Her nine grandchildren, Josephine (Waleed) Sandoval, Nicholas (Jennifer) Geremino, Anthony Joyce, Angela (Steven) Cortes, Joseph Lindsey, Jared Lindsey, Austin Joyce, Alec Pucino and Rachel Pucino, and seven great grandchildren.

Josephine had a love for horses and riding them. She loved spending time with her family and always had a story to share. She was a courageous and witty woman who could always be counted on for a smile. She will be sorely missed by those lucky enough to had been in her life.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, February 29 from 4 - 7 PM. A funeral home service will take place on Friday, March 1 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
