Joshua W.
Smith
September 1, 1935 – February 1, 2016
Joshua W. Smith, of Milton, NY a longtime area resident, entered into rest on Monday, February 1, 2016 in Kissimmee, FL. He was 80. Son of the late Joshua & Sophie (Stanley) Smith, he was born September 1, 1935 in Raleigh, NC. He was married to the late Marie Smith on July 14, 1955 in Williamsburg, NJ. Joshua was a Paving Contractor who established J.W. Smith Paving in 1960. The hustler is gone, but never forgotten. Love was his family, and he spoiled them all rotten. He gave so much, to so many others. His friends weren't just friends, they were all his brothers. His main joy in life, was working an unreal pace. Money wasn't his love, it was the thrill of the chase. He gave away more, than most men. A life lesson we all, should be trying to learn. At 12 years old, he knocked on his first door, 68 years later, now he knocks them no more. But today he knocked on, the last door of his fate. Now sitting with Jesus, for he knocked on Heaven's gate. Joshua is survived by his wife, Sharyn Smith at home, they were married October 1, 1997; his children: Jimmy Smith of Highland, NY, Joshua W. Smith Jr. and his wife Jessie of New Paltz, NY, Mary Lamela and her husband Robert of Marlboro, NY, Tom Smith and his wife Becky of Milton, NY and Brenda Smith of Milton NY; his siblings:Stella Mcneil of Denton, MD and Peggy Smith of Delaware; his grandchildren, whom are left with great memories: Marthalyn Wells, Noel Smith, Jaclynkae Smith, Joshua W.
