Judith Faith "Judy" Rhoades, 72, of Walden, New York, passed away on September 11, 2025.
Born in Amsterdam, NY, to the late Josephine and James Kelly, Judy grew up with a deep
appreciation for the Adirondacks. She married her beloved husband, James Scott Rhoades, on
June 8, 1996, and together they built a life centered on family.
Judy lived vibrantly and with flair. Known for her impeccable fashion and perfectly manicured
nails, she always made a statement. She found joy in horseback riding, traveling, and the
challenge of a good crossword puzzle. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family,
and her infectious laugh filled every gathering. Her admirable strength and unwavering
dedication to her loved ones will be her lasting legacy.
She is survived by her husband, James Rhoades; her brother James Kelly (Janice) and sister
Mary Thomas; her children, Shenandoah, Jimmy (Rose), Michelle, Jason, Heather, Jessica,
Katelyn (Ariel), and James; ten grandchildren:  Jesse, Cecelia, Nicolas, Breanna, Tierra, Tyler,
Dylan, Athena, Josephine, Phoenix and three great-grandchildren: Braxton, Maely, and Stella.
She is also lovingly remembered by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at
Holy Name of Mary - Assumption Church 89 Union St. Montgomery, NY. Burial will follow at the
Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery 111 Craigsville Rd.  Goshen, NY.  A Celebration of
Life will be held later that day from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Liberty Church 510 M and M Rd.
Middletown, NY.
Flowers may be sent to Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, NY. Alternatively, monetary
donations to the family or a donation to a cancer foundation of your choice in Judy's memory are
welcome.
