Obituary

June C. Clark, affectionately know by her late husband as "low-gear", passed away peacefully on January 6, 2014 in Winchester Virginia. June had lived for most of her life in the area, residing at Orange Lake. Recently, she had been a resident of The Godfrey House in Berryville, Virginia. Primarily a homemaker, June had also worked in the cafeteria at Meadow Hill School. She was 86 years old. She was the daughter of Harold and Ruth Mc Dowell Lozier and one of nine children. June was born in Newburgh, NY on August 15, 1927. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. June was a wonderful cook, making beautiful cakes for family birthdays. In addition, she loved to decorate for holidays and craft ceramics. She was also a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. After moving to Berryville, she became a Bingo Player Extraordinaire. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church and a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. June was also a softball player and she built the best snowmen. She married John W. Clark Jr. on August 15, 1945 in St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh, NY. She is survived by her son, David W. Clark and his fiancée, Evelyn Biscardi of Highland, NY, her son Richard H. Clark of Reston ,Va, her daughter, Gail Caldwell and husband, Mark of Newburgh, daughters-in law, Kathryn Clark, Michele Clark, Gail-Anne Clark, and Judy Clark. In addition, her brother Gary Lozier of Cherry Valley, and sister-in-law, Alice Lozier of Orange Lake. Also included are her grandchildren, Walter Marvel and wife Susan, Patrick Carfizzi, Sergi Torres, Christopher Carfizzi and his wife, Marla, Carrie Scott and her husband, Jeff, Richard J.Clark, Megan Clark, Kimberly Clark, Deborah and Paul Figueroa, Meghan Caldwell, and Destinee Gunnett.Great grandchildren include Hudson Grey Scott, Jonah , Elijah and Benjamin David Figueroa,, and Gracelyn Michelle Gunnett. Among her nieces are Sharon Scofide, Patricia Lozier, JoAnn Morano, Linda Childs, Judith DuBaldi, and Ruth Ann Dever. June was predeceased by her parents, husband, John, sons Mark and Michael Clark, sisters Anna Judson, Gertrude Bennett , Margaret Starr, Barbara Toombs, and brothers, William Lozier, Herbert Lozier, Robert Lozier and son-in-law, Pasquale Carfizzi. Visitation will be from 2:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend William Scafidi at Our Lady of the Lake Chapel at 10:00AM on Monday, January 13, 2014 followed by interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Michael J. Clark or the ASPCA in memory of Mark E. Clark.
