Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Hannon

New Windsor, NY

Kathy Hannon, 67, a longtime resident of New Windsor, New York, passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she spent her life caring for.

Born on March 6, 1959, in the Bronx, Kathy was raised in Rockland County and graduated from North Rockland High School. She later made her home in New Windsor, where she and her husband, John, raised their three sons and built a life centered around love and family.

Kathy and John were married in 1981 and shared 45 years of marriage. Together, they raised their sons, Matthew, William, and Ryan. Kathy was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family before herself. When her boys were growing up, she could be found on the sidelines of a game, volunteering her time at the little league field, or shuffling them from one practice or event to the next. No matter where they needed to be or what they needed from her, Kathy was there.

Her sons will remember a mother who supported them through everything and loved them unconditionally. Those memories, and countless others like them, will forever bring smiles and laughter alongside the sadness of her loss.

Kathy carried that same devotion into being a grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren, and she took every opportunity she could to spoil them. Grandma’s house was a place where everyone felt comfortable, welcome, and at home. Ice pops, mac and cheese, and chicken nuggets were always on hand, and there was never a shortage of love. Her grandchildren knew that Grandma’s house was their house, too. Her and John’s home became the gathering place for holidays, celebrations, and ordinary days spent together.

She brought that caring nature to her work as well, serving as a teacher’s aide at Temple Hill Academy, where she dedicated herself to helping and supporting children.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, John Hannon; her sons, Matthew, William, and Ryan, their wives and partners, Megan, Gina, and Brittany; and her cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Brooks, Brady, Connor, Gavin, Erin, and Riley, as well as Patrick, Georgia, Luke, Liam, Quinn, Kiernan and Fiadh. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret Brady; her brother, Michael Brady, and sister-in-law, Tara, nieces and nephews Mark, Kristen, Brendan, Amanda and Molly; as well as extended family and many friends who loved her dearly.

She was predeceased by her father, Joe Brady; her brother, Billy Brady; and her cousin, Patty LeGeyt, who was like a sister to her.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Monday, September 28 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 29 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 145 Benkard Ave., Newburgh, with burial following in The Cemetery of the Ascension, Monsey NY.
