Obituary

Kevin Michael Van Housen

August 13, 1975 ~ September 28, 2026

Noblesville, IN

Kevin Michael Van Housen, 51, passed away on September 28th after an 18-month battle with cancer. A resident of Noblesville, IN, Kevin was born in Rockland County, NY and raised in the town of Newburgh, NY. For those of us who loved him most, his passing will leave an immeasurable hole in our hearts. But Kevin’s life, love, and laughter will give us comfort for the rest of our lives.

Kevin was, first and foremost, the most incredible dad any of us has ever seen, and his world revolved around his son, Ben.

He was the kind of loyal friend who would do anything for the people he loved most.

He loved his family—whether it was the one he was born into or the one he chose.

Kevin was kind, loving, and funny. He loved to laugh. He loved watching football, and you couldn’t find a cooking show he didn’t think was the best. He loved to bowl, and golf, and play poker, and he loved the people he did all three with. Kevin also loved live music. He went to as many Phish shows as he could.

He was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He was the friend that all your other friends loved. He had a core group of friends who became his family and loved him as one of their own. And he had an ex-wife, Dina, who was the love of his life and his rock during his final days.

Kevin is survived by his son Benjamin, Benjamin’s mother Dina, and his mother Thelma; his brother Karl and his wife Lauren; his sister Karen Beam, her husband Steve, his nieces Hayley Van Housen, Jordan Beam, Teagan Van Housen, and his nephew Ryan Beam; his great niece Raelynn O’Connell, and great nephew Leland O’Connell. Kevin is predeceased by his father Robert, and his brother Kenny.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday November 6th, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home 481 GIdney Ave, Newburgh from 4pm to 7pm.
