Klara "Mama" Chernyak, age 76, passed away on July 23, 2025, in New York, New York.

Born on January 26, 1949, in Odessa, Ukraine. Klara's life journey spanned continents and generations.

Her early years in Odessa shaped her resilience and strength—qualities that would define her throughout her life. Klara was a devoted mother and grandmother whose presence brought warmth and stability to those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Gennady; daughters-in-law Vickey and Aleksandra; and grandchildren K, Grace, Paul John, Vlada, Kira, and Eve. As well as her companion Suzie and Dama.

Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Sofia, her husband Mikhail, and her son Leon. Their memories remained close to Klara's heart throughout her life.

Known affectionately as "Mama," Klara leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

A Funeral Service will be held on July 28, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 04:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Avenue.
