Latara Patrice Greene passed this life on Friday, October 13, 2023 comfortably at home. Latara was born on January 16,1983 in Newburgh, NY to the union of Mr. Michael Greene and Marjorie Hopper.
Latara graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. Latara was a wonderful track athlete in high school. She had a passion to become a veterinarian. Her love of animals would lead her heart to see to it that every stray cat and dog that she came across had at least something to eat. Latara A.K.A. Tara was very lively and loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She did many things in her home church at First United Methodist Church, a few things such as she praise danced, working at the youth camp during the summers, and attending youth bible study.
Latara leave to cherish in her memories are her gracious grandmother Fannie Hopper of Newburgh NY, beautiful mother Marjorie Hopper of Newburgh, NY; her sweet children, Naversia Alexander of Newburgh, NY, Nickolas Shields of Newburgh, NY, and Neshawn Gary of Newburgh, NY; 3 loving sisters, Shatoya Greene, Zahtisha Williams and her Husband Alex Williams; and Tinisha Greene, 3 uncles Eddie Hopper, Robert Hopper, and Homer Greene, aunt Doreen Henry and a host of relatives who loved her dearly.
She worked as a health care worker at AHRC Orange Sullivan, and Walmart for many years in Newburgh NY.
She is predeceased by her father Michael Greene, son Nigel Gary, uncle Leonard Ponder and, Fred Greene, aunt Linda Hopper, and aunt Bridget Ponder.
The family of Ms. Greene would like to thank the nurses and aides of Memorial Sloan Kettering for the care they have given Ms. Greene.
Visitation will be Wednesday October 18th 10AM-11AM Services will follow from 11AM-12pm. Latara Greene will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery
