Mccue

Linda Ann McCue
August 21, 1947 ~ January 3, 2026
Linda Ann McCue, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, cherished sister, and loyal friend, was born August 21, 1947, in Manhattan, New York, and passed away peacefully in her home on January 3, 2026, in Newburgh, New York, leaving her family and friends heartbroken.
Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband, William "Bill" McCue. She was also predeceased by her parents, Harriet and Frank Fisher; her sister and brother in law, Susan and Julio Nieves; her brothers, Harry Fisher and Michael Fisher; and most recently, her beloved baby sister Sharon Torres and brother in law Ramon Torres.
Linda and her husband Bill spent many years living in the Bronx, where they built their family and shared their early life together. They grew to love the upstate area and made the decision to start a new chapter, eventually settling in Newburgh, where they purchased their home and lived for over thirty years. It was there that Linda truly put down roots, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and family.
A devoted and selfless caregiver, Linda lovingly took care of both her mother and her mother in law in their later years, ensuring they were surrounded by comfort, dignity, and love before they went to Heaven.
Linda dedicated her working life to caring for others. She worked as a home health aide, forming deep and lasting bonds with many of her patients, connections so meaningful that many continued to call and check in on her years later. She later went on to work for ShopRite, where she spent many years in the floral department and also served as a front end manager before retiring.
Linda was friendly, warm spirited, and funny. She could say one word and have an entire room cracking up with laughter. Wherever she went, she made an impression, and many people loved her.
In her quieter moments, Linda enjoyed word search puzzles, crocheting, and sewing. She loved playing her scratch off games, trips to the casino, and a good game of Pokeno. She never missed the chance to watch a movie starring John Wayne, often saying that her husband Bill was her John Wayne. She was known as the best cook, feeding people was just another way she showed love. Her Irish soda bread, in particular, was legendary and widely agreed to be the best.
She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Joseph Diaz and his wife Lourdes, and their children Brandon, David, and Alan; Frank Diaz and his daughter Ava; Lynda McCue-Arterburn and her husband Allen, and their son Christian; and William McCue and his wife Michelle, and their children William and Mary. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Linda was also the beloved Godmother of siblings, Jaime and Raymond Torres.
