Lorenzo Buda

August 10, 1935 ~ February 20, 2025

Lorenzo Buda, 89 years old of Newburgh, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Filomena by his side on February 20, 2025.

Lorenzo was born on August 10, 1935 in Abruzzo, Cupello, Italy to Luigi Buda and Anna Chiara DiFabio.

He worked as a cabinet maker for 12 years at Kurt's Cabinets in Vails Gate. He was also self employed in kitchen cabinets for 9 years at the Culinary Institute of America and retired in September of 2001.

Lorenzo was an Italian lector for 35 years at Sacred Heart Church and had a deep devotion to God.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Filomena Buda; daughter, Luisa (John); grandchildren, Ashley and Stephanie; brother, Mario of Argentina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Luigi Buda and Anna Chiara DiFabio; sisters, Rosina and Concetta; and brothers, Antonio and Rocco of Italy.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, February 28 from 3 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, March 1 at 10 AM followed by entombment at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
