Loretta K. Osterhout

Loretta K. Osterhout passed away on May 31, 2025, in Highland, New York, at the age of 99.

She was born on November 22, 1925, to Leland VanDover and Lydia Gilbert. Loretta was previously married to William Joseph Lennon and later to Edward Osterhout, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her sister, Alice M. Piekarz, and her stepfather, John William Flynn.

Loretta found joy in simple pleasures—she was an avid reader, enjoyed writing poetry, and took great pride in her gardening. One of her favorite pastimes was sharing lunch with her daughter Debra.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Debra Ann Inzerra of Newburgh, NY; Kathie DeVoti (Richard) of Arkansas; and Bonnie Jo Ellsworth (Art) of Kingston, NY. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Samuel S. (Chereé) Inzerra IV, Tiffany M. Inzerra, Andy, Tina, Lydia, and Patricia; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.

A graveside service will be held on Monday June 9th at 12:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, 93 Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY 12553.
