Lorraine Squarci

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lorraine Squarci at the age of 66 after her nearly decade long battle with cancer.

Lorraine resided in Monroe, NY until shortly before the time of her passing on October 9, 2024 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh.

Lorraine was born December 17, 1957 to Gloria and Lorenzo Squarci in Brooklyn, NY.

She graduated from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising in Manhattan and worked as a clothing buyer for Gimbels early in her career. She would go on to work for her father in Newburgh, first, at Hudson Valley Tree and, later, at Christmas in America, where she helped run the family operated business until its closure in 2016.

When she wasn't busy at work, Lorraine loved visiting Key West, traveling, fashion, jewelry, decorating, watching sports and spending time with her friends and family. She was someone that could always be relied on, and those closest to her know that she would go to the ends of the earth for them.

Lorraine is survived by her parents Gloria and Lorenzo; her sister Patti (James); nephews Christopher (Cristina) and Alexander (Grace); grand nephews Brayden and Bryce; her partner Eddy; and her many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her brother Steven.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 11, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave, from 4PM to 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday October 12, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church 301 Ann St. at 9:45AM. Entombment will follow at the Cedar Hill Mausoleum.
