Luz Maria Perez "Mayra" age 36 of Newburgh, passed away on August 12, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by family.

Luz was born on August 8, 1988 in Newburgh, NY to German and Luz Maria (Garcia) Perez.

She was a full-time mom, dedicated to her home and children, and loved shopping, fashion, and make-up. She was always very cheerful and had a contagious laugh. Her voice and smile and laugh would brighten up a room. She was loved by so many, and was always surrounded by friends and family. She was very comforting and supportive. We're left with nothing but beautiful memories and love. She will be missed but never forgotten. She lives in our hearts always and forever.

Luz is survived by her husband, Robert Castillo; children, Uriel, Dayami, Kelsey, Yaneli, and Zoey; and siblings, Abigail, Jose, Diana, and Nancy.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14 from 4 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church on Thursday, August 15 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
