Manuel Perez

Manuel Perez, 87, of New Windsor, NY, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 8, 1937, in Palmeira, Spain, Manuel was the son of Andres Perez and Josefa Santiago. He received his early education in Palmeira and went on to serve in the Spanish Navy. On August 11, 1962, he married Emilia Perez in Palmeira, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned over six decades.

Manuel built a life rooted in hard work and dedication. His career included service in the Merchant Marine and skilled work as a mason, carpenter, and in black topping. He was known for his willingness to help his family in every way he could.

He found joy in simple pleasures—playing cards and dominoes, tending to his garden and yard, fishing, and watching soccer, tennis, football, and baseball. These pastimes brought him peace and connection with those around him.

Manuel is lovingly remembered by his wife Emilia; his children Manuel & Dianne Perez, Francisca & John D'Angelo, and Emilia & Dean Pearce; his siblings Josefa Perez, Manuela Perez, Jose Luis Perez, and Dolores Carceller; and his cherished grandchildren Jacqueline (Anthony) Larson, Erika Bahr, Nicholas Perez, Jasmine Perez, Gabrielle Pearce, Isabelle Pearce, and Christopher Pearce. He was predeceased by his siblings Andres Perez and Alfonso Perez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital .
