Manuel Peters, long time resident of New Windsor NY passed away on November 9, 2018 at the Sapphire Nursing Home in Newburgh. He was 97 years old.
Manny was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on January 19, 1921. He was the first-born son of Gregory & Maria Peters who immigrated to the United States from Portugal. He faithfully served his country during World War II and was Honorably Discharged from the Army in 1946. Shortly after his military discharge, he married the love of his life Laura Gomes Peters.
Manny was always a hard worker who had more than one job most of his life. He was employed by Dupont Chemical, Highland National Bank, and the New Windsor School System just to name a few.
Manny was predeceased by his sisters Mary (Joe) Vale & Virginia (Vincent) DaSilva.
He is survived by his Wife Laura Peters; Brother Gregory Peters; Nephews Jim (Donna) DaSilva and Greg (Beth) DaSilva; Nieces Julianne (Stewart) Yaeger and Linda (Fred) Greene.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 13, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue Newburgh, NY 12550.
A private military burial service will be held for his family only.
