Margaret M. Healy
February 17, 1933 ~ July 22, 2024
Margaret "Marge" Healy, aged 91, of Washingtonville, NY, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Eugene Healy.
Margaret was born on February 17, 1933, in New York City, to Michael and Margaret Courtney who preceded her in death as did her siblings Patrick (Buddy), Francis, and Roseanne.
In 1956, Margaret married Eugene Healy, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love for over six decades until his passing. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing bingo, reading and watching classic television shows like Macgyver and Hawaii 5.0., her gameshows and the Yankees. Margaret dedicated many years of her career to Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She was an active and cherished member of St. Brendan's Church in the Bronx and St. Mary's Church in Washingtonville, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love in her children: Margaret Kiernan (Jimmy), Valerie Morrison (Mike Decker), Gary Healy (Susan) and Kathleen Giordano (Joe); beloved son-in-law Billy Spellman; her adoring grandchildren: Christine (Joe), Alyssa (Johnnie), Michael, Matthew, Thomas, Stephanie, Nicholas, Gary (Aileen), Liam, and Owen; great-grandchildren, Avery, Henry, Jack, Everett, and Brendan, who brought her immense joy and pride; her best friend, sister-in-law, Patricia DiLieto, who she shared a close bond with throughout the years; and many nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.
Margaret's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her caretaker, Charlene Doehla, whose compassionate care and dedication brought great comfort and support to her.
Margaret will be remembered for her warm smile, her kindness towards others, and her unwavering faith. She touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit, leaving behind cherished memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband Eugene, in the arms of the Lord.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 on Monday, July 29 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, July 30 at St. Mary's Church, 42 Goshen Ave., Washingtonville. Burial will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
