Margaret Webb
September 18, 1932 ~ June 29, 2026
We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Webb on June 29, 2026. She died peacefully at National Health Care in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, where she had resided for the past four years.
Margaret was born on September 18, 1932, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late John and Peggy Hughes. She graduated from Kearny High School in Kearny, New Jersey, where her family resided. Throughout her career, she held a variety of secretarial positions and later retired from Mount Saint Mary College. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Scott Webb, whom she married on October 3, 1953, as well as her brothers, John and Tommy Hughes.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Caravassi; her loving children, Laurie DiLorenzo and her husband Joseph of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Robert Webb of Walden, New York; and Randy Webb and his wife Karen of McKinney, Texas.
Margaret was also blessed with many grandchildren: Dan DiLorenzo and his wife Emily of Portland, Maine; Scott DiLorenzo and his wife Julia of Oceanside, California; Brian DiLorenzo and his wife Marissah of Brooklyn, New York; Sarah Thompson and her husband Shaun of Baltimore, Maryland; Alexx Webb and fiancé Nathan Price of Redwood; Devin Warren and her husband Elton of Corinth, Texas; Holly Gorton and fiancé Tyler Horton of McKinney, Texas; Sam Webb and his wife Hannah of Allen, Texas; and Emma Webb and her partner Reilly Branch of Fort Worth, Texas. Margaret was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren.
Margaret cherished her role as both mother and matriarch of a large and loving family. Nothing brought her greater joy than sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful moments with those she loved. Family reunions were the highlight of Margaret’s year, and she found profound joy in organizing, hosting, and bringing family together to create lasting memories.
Deeply proud of her Scottish heritage, Margaret lovingly carried many treasured traditions forward, especially during the holidays. She valued her friendships dearly and nurtured many lifelong bonds throughout the years. Margaret also enjoyed her involvement in the community through the Valley Central Antique and Art Show, the Mount Saint Mary artist exhibit, and the March of Dimes, among others.
Her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit touched so many lives, and all who knew and loved her are better for it. She will be deeply missed.
Services at Brooks Funeral Home will be announced at a later date.
