Maria Elena fue una mujer excepcional cuya vida fue un testimonio de sacrificio, valentía y amor incondicional. Nacida en Morelia, Michoacán, Maria Elena emigró a Nueva York en 1995 en busca de mejores oportunidades para su familia. Este fue el sacrificio que realizó para asegurar un futuro más próspero para sus seres queridos.
Fue una trabajadora incansable, quien dedicó más de dos décadas de su vida al Mount Saint Mary College. Además de su tiempo allí, se dedicó desinteresadamente al cuidado de personas mayores con las Sisters of Presentation y Carmelites Communion. Esto es otro testimonio de su inmenso corazón y su inquebrantable deseo de apoyar y ayudar a los demás. Su espíritu laborioso y su compromiso con su trabajo dejaron una huella imborrable en la comunidad que la rodeaba.
A principios de 2023, Maria Elena fue diagnosticada con cáncer de páncreas. Demostró ser una guerrera indomable, quizás uno de los soldados más fuertes de Dios. Nunca se rindió durante su tratamiento, mostrando una valentía y gran fortaleza. Tras una batalla de un año, descansa en paz.
Partió en paz, rodeada por su familia, en el seno de su hogar. Deja atrás a tres hijos, Itzel, Kimberly y David Jr., así como a su esposo, David. Su amor, luz, dedicación y animo perdurarán en los corazones de aquellos a quienes tocó con su presencia inigualable.
En honor a su legado de amor, sacrificio y lucha, llevaremos consigo su memoria, recordando su ejemplo de fuerza y determinación en los momentos más difíciles.
El velorio y la misa se llevarán a cabo en la iglesia St. Patricks en Newburgh el sábado 30 de diciembre a las 10 a.m.

Maria Elena was an exceptional woman whose life was a testament to sacrifice, bravery, and unconditional love. Born in Morelia, Michoacán, Maria Elena immigrated to New York in 1995 in search of better opportunities for her family. This was the sacrifice she made to ensure a more prosperous future for her loved ones.
She was a tireless worker who devoted over two decades of her life to Mount Saint Mary College. In addition to her time there, she selflessly cared for the elderly with the Sisters of Presentation and Carmelites Communion. This is another testament to her immense heart and unwavering desire to support and help others. Her hardworking spirit and commitment to her work left an indelible mark on the community around her.
In early 2023, Maria Elena was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She proved to be an indomitable warrior, one of God's strongest soldiers. She never gave up during her treatment, showing great courage and strength. After a year-long battle, she rests in peace.
She departed peacefully, surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her home. She leaves behind three children, Itzel, Kimberly, and David Jr., as well as her husband, David. Her love, light, dedication, and spirit will endure in the hearts of those she touched with her presence.
In honor of her legacy of love, sacrifice, and resilience, we will carry her memory with us, remembering her example of strength and determination in the most challenging moments.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Newburgh on Saturday, December 30, at 10 a.m.
