Maria Del Socorro Bassett Serrano

Maria Del Socorro "Coco" Bassett- Serrano of New Windsor passed away peacefully at home on 01/11/24 surrounded by her family.

Born on June 23,1929 in Managua, Nicaragua to Jeronimo Bassett and Francisca Obregon-Bassett.  She was the youngest of 13 siblings.  She is predeceased by her husband Raphael Serrano, both parents and 11 siblings.

Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Ralph Serrano of Mesa, Arizona, daughter and son in law, LuAnn and husband Paul Decker of New Windsor, NY, son Andrew Serrano of New Windsor, NY, sister Binda Lagos of California, brother in-law George Serrano of NYC, NY, 6 grandchildren Erica Decker and fiancé Moises Velez of NYC,NY , Jennifer Decker of New Windsor, NY, Christopher Decker of New Windsor, NY , Samantha Serrano of Arizona, Kristina Serrano of Arizona, Amber Serrano of Arizona, and a very special friend Theresa Gayton of New Windsor, NY.

The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses and aid for the wonderful care they provided to our mother, Grace Brennan RN , Elizabeth VanHage LPN and Catherine Walden.
