Martin Gonzalez, age 85, of Newburgh, New York, entered into eternal rest on January 8, 2026. He was born on March 14, 1940, in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, to his beloved mother, Cecelia DelValle.

On June 18, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, Martin was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Mercedes Gonzalez. Together they shared more than sixty years of marriage grounded in faith, devotion, and family.

Martin dedicated over 25 years of service as a Lead Machinist at Macbeth, where he was respected for his skill, integrity, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his profession and in providing for his family.

A lifelong and devout Catholic, Martin lived his faith through humility, service, and love for others. His life was a testament to perseverance, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to God and family.

Martin is survived by his beloved wife, Mercedes Gonzalez; his children, Jeannette Estrada, Marvin Gonzalez, Mercedes Otero, and Cindy Gonzalez; and his cherished grandchildren, Jacque Gonzalez, Cecilia Gonzalez, Alexavier Estrada and spouse Ashley West Estrada, Demitria Martin and spouse Dan Martin, Kailo Steinke, Isabella Estrada, Sabrina Estrada, Theo Martin, Richie Viruet and Belal Harb.

He is also survived by his siblings: Maximino, Harry, Jesus, William, and Lydia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia DelValle.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m.
