Matthew Roopchandsingh of Newburgh passed away on November 14, 2024. He was 30 Years old.

Matthew "Lil Roopie" was born in Newburgh on December 3. 1993 to Anthony and Carol Roopchandsingh. He has three siblings: Cristal, Christopher, and Michael, and he was a full-time uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Matthew was the first handicap content creator in Newburgh. In addition to creating content, he enjoyed gaming, podcasting, and was an advocate for the disabled.

He is survived by his parents, Anthony and Carol Roopchandsingh; his three siblings: Cristal, Christopher and Michael; brother-in-law, Mike; his loving grandparents; nieces: Aria, Priya, Kalypso and Gia; nephews: Marleo Matthew, Logan Matthew, and Liam; his godsister, Nelline; a plethora of first and second cousins; and his pet turtle, favorite cat Iris, cat Lokai, and dog Cora.

He was predeceased by his grandparents; his godmother, Nelli Padilla; Malachi Fountain; and many other friends who lived with muscular dystrophy.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21 from 4 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church on Friday, November 22 at 10 AM.
