Maureen Day Bartley, age 75 of Newburgh, NY passed away on December 8 at Vassar Brothers Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 18, 1948 to the late Helen Roulette and Henry Tamn Day. She grew up in Jefferson Valley, NY and attended Ladycliff Academy. She married Donald Palmer on March 22, 1969 and spent time raising their children. Maureen was always civic-minded and spent this time volunteering for various environmental causes, before moving on to a successful career at Texaco Research Center, where she met her second husband Leonard Bartley. They were married on December 28, 2005. Maureen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor and a brilliant mind. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Leonard Bartley; ex-husband Donald Palmer; children Kimberly Scott(Matthew), Wendy Bollin, Don Palmer(Sparla), Scott Bartley, Stephanie Bartley, and Desiree Morrison(Mozake); grandchildren Dakota Hundley, Jacob Scott, Tiernan Laue, Hudson Scott, Zayn DeFalco, Allie Palmer, and Ezekiel Bell; sister Kathie Spock(George), sister-in-law Cindy Bartley Horn, brother-in-law Richard Bartley(Angel); nieces and nephews Samantha Churchill(Ken) and Rebecca Spock(Rob), Sarah Horn, Jason Bartley, and Rick Bartley(Danielle) and her cousins and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother Helen Roulette Day and her father Henry Tamn Day. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the 4th-floor nursing department at Vassar Hospital for the kindness and care they gave Maureen in her final days. A church service will be held on January 6th at 12:00pm at the Gardnertown United Methodist Church, Newburgh, NY followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 at the Good Will Fire Department, Newburgh, NY.
