"Uncle Domino"

December 30, 1957 ~ September 26, 2025

Newburgh, NY

Maurice Donald Reed, Sr., affectionately known as "Uncle Domino," passed away peacefully at his home in Newburgh, New York, on September 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30, 1957, in Newburgh, the beloved son of Geraldine Reed.

As a child, Maurice found joy in fishing, riding his bike, and spending time with his siblings and friends. He had a contagious laugh and cherished watching his favorite films, "Viva Las Vegas" and "The Honeymooners." In his teenage years, he discovered a passion for roller skating—a pastime that led him to meet the love of his life, Debra Brown. They were married on February 19, 1977, in Newburgh and shared 48 devoted years together.

Maurice graduated from the Newburgh School District and began working various jobs before securing a position at Johnston Control. There, he rose through the ranks to become shift supervisor during his 15-year tenure. After the company closed, he continued his career at Master Craft for another 17 years before retiring. He was a man of faith and a member of the Baptist church.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Reed of Newburgh; sons Maurice (Renee) Reed of Monticello and DeShan Reed of Newburgh; grandchildren Maurice III, Felicia (Eric), Daisha(Anthony), Viri (Arianna), Marlissa, Alexis, Ohnjda, and Nevaeh, Josiah; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by siblings James (Tonya) Troublefield, Arthur Brunson, Rudolph (Nadine) Reed, Florine (Gerald) Pipkins, and Tresanne Reed; uncle Clarence Reed; and longtime friends Raymond King, Cesar Page, Warren Bell, Timothy Weygant, Dawn Osborne, Arthur Lee, and Rebecca Weygant.

Maurice was predeceased by his mother Geraldine Reed; brothers David Reed and Alton Hall Jr.; and sisters Joyce Reed and Patricia Cowins.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
