Mercedes Alicea a long time resident of Newburgh and New Windsor, entered into rest Friday, Oct 13th. She was 91 years old.

The daughter of the late Miguel and Venancia Garcia Alicea, she was born Sept 19, 1932 in Dorado, PR, Puerto Rico.
Mercedes enjoyed socializing with friends and family, Church was a large part of her life.
A beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She had one of the biggest hearts and always provide whatever she had to those in need.

Mercedes is survived by her loving Son, Ricardo Ramos and his wife Brenda Ramos, Granddaughters Jessica Rykse and Amanda Ramos, Grandson Emilio Ramos, Great Granddaughter Venancia Rykse
Of Monroe, Michigan, Sister and best friend Catalina Alicea of New Windsor, NY, Sister Matilde Torrez of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and many, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her parents, Miguel and Venancia, she was also predeceased by Three brothers, Santos Alicea, Luis E. Alicea, Ricardo Alicea and Two sisters, Miguelina Alicea, Luisa Alicea.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, NY Thursday October 19, 2023 from 4PM~7PM. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery 93 Union Ave, New Windsor, NY. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10AM for the procession to Woodlawn Cemetery.
