Michael Thomas Brock age 70 of New Windsor, NY transitioned to be with the Lord on November 19, 2022. Michael was born on August 20, 1952 in New York, NY to the late Helen and Thomas Brock.Michael earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. After college he became an insurance agent, followed by an accountant, and then began a career as a Property Manager for the City of New York from which he retired from in 2015.His undeniable intelligence gave him the nickname "walking encyclopedia". He had a passion for traveling with family, sports, history, geography, astronomy, photography, jazz, theatre, and black and white classic movies. Michael did not discriminate when it came to food, because of this, Sheila would call him Mikey because he would eat any and everything. His favorites were banana pudding, Red Lobster, lamb chops and smothered steak.Michael is survived by his wife and best friend of 49 years who he adored and lived for, Sheila Brock, their children who he loved so passionately, who in return admired, adored, and consider him their Hero, Shawn (Yolanda), Brandon (Aileen), Nigel, and Olivia, his grandchildren who he was so deeply proud of and showed an infinite amount of love to, Shawn Jr. (Chanda), Kaylah, Isaiah, A'Mya, Melonnie, Nevaeh, Braydon, and Syntannah, his great grandchildren who he loved with all his heart Heaven, Cori, Avion, and Shiloh, his dearest youngest brother Kenneth Brock, brother-in-laws Sydney, Larry, Glen (Tina), sister-in-laws Pauline, Linda, Jacalyn, Crystal (David), and his many beloved nieces and nephews that he loved and cared for wholeheartedly.In addition to his parents Helen and Thomas, Michael was predeceased by his second mother Deola, siblings Yvonne, Larry, Brenda, brother-in-law Reggie, and his nephew Kevin.Michael is the true definition of, "to know him is to love him". He was a role model to so many.He was humble, kind, selfless, smart, funny, sarcastic, cool, calm, patient, never judged, and he welcomed everyone with open arms.Michael was a warrior, he was strong and fought until the very end. As Michael would quote, 2 Corinthians 5:8 "to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord". He ALWAYS kept God first. He would say "my God got me", and because of this we know he is watching over his loved ones and resting peacefully with his Father.
A memorial will be on December 3rd at 2pm at Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Church St, Beacon, NY 12508.As he would say when he ended every conversation - Ciao
