Michael Evans
"Danny"
January 30, 1955 ~ February 10, 2026
Michael Evans, affectionately known as "Danny," passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital at the age of 71.
Born on January 30, 1955, in Kingston, Jamaica, Michael later made his home in Newburgh, New York, where he built a life centered around love, family, and dedication. He was a man whose presence was deeply felt by those who knew him and whose memory will be cherished forever.
Michael shared 24 loving years with his devoted spouse, Arabia Melvin. Together they built a life filled with commitment and family. He was a proud and loving father to Karisha Evans of Jamaica; and London Evans, Michael Evans Jr, Kazia Evans, Sacred Evans, and twins Maddox and Major Evans, all of Newburgh, New York. His children were his pride and joy, and he found great happiness in spending time with them.
Michael enjoyed life in his own special way. He loved visiting the local OTB, watching horse racing, keeping up with soccer matches, and staying informed by watching the news. These simple pleasures brought him joy and were part of his daily routine. He appreciated good conversation, current events, and the excitement of the races.
He was born to Darren Evans and Lurlene Donaldson and was one of many siblings who shared close family bonds. He leaves behind his siblings: Paulet Evans Lennox, Ricky Saunders, Rose Phillips, Millicent Thomas, and Marnell Saunders.
Michael's life was a testament to strength, love, and resilience. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his deep roots in Jamaica, and the legacy he leaves behind through his children and loved ones.
The Evans and Melvin families ask for continued prayers and support during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.
Rest well, Danny. Yuh work pon earth done, sleep in eternal peace.
