Michael R. Rosscup
January 4, 1963 ~ March 10, 2023
Michael R Rosscup, 60, of Newburgh, NY passed away peacefully on the evening of March 10th, surrounded by his loving family, after his brave and courageous short battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael was born on January 4th, 1963 to the late Franklin Rosscup and Brenda Vail in Madera, California, but grew up in Forest Grove, Oregon. Mike came to New York in 1986 and began working at Jules Vision Center in Vails Gate shortly after. He dedicated 37 years of his life to the business and became the proud owner of Jules in 2000. Through his time there he will be best remembered for always having a smile on his face, and his willingness to help.
Michael was a man of great integrity, honor, respect, loyalty, dedication and love. He loved his life and God, whom he was grateful to daily. For every blessing and trial that came, allowed Michael to see the constant hand of God moving, throughout his life. He had a unique sense of humor that shown through his goofy dances, corny jokes and the goofy nicknames he gave those he loved. He loved creating his inventions, Star Wars, reading, West Coast sports teams, Sci-Fi, music, fishing and those difficult crossword puzzles.
He took great pride in his family and home. His days off were spent making memories with his family and home improvement projects. Though he was talented in many things, his real passion was in the kitchen. He loved cooking for his family and at every gathering, he would make sure everyone's bellies were full and the house echoed with laughter.
With numerous accomplishments throughout his life, he was most proud of being a devoted husband, a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kimberly (Pace) Rosscup, his children, Amanda (Bill) Mathis and their children Logan, Connor, and Emilie; Nicole Rosscup and her children Ayden, Jordan, and Brandon; Jonathan Conway; April Rosscup; Adam (Nicole) Rosscup and their children Bennett and Eliza. Siblings Ronald Rosscup of Nevada, Paul (Sandy) Rosscup of Washington, Brenda (Greg) Satchell of Oregon, Kim Sanford of Oregon and several nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his parents Franklin and Brenda, his father and mother-in-law Alan and Calla Pace, his brothers Marty and Brian Rosscup, his brother Eric Dobson, his sister Rene Rodriguez, and his granddaughter Adelynn Rosscup.
A celebration of life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19th from 1 pm to4 pm. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, you consider donating to pancreatic cancer research or to the Kaplan Hospice House, who provided exceptional care for Michael during his transition to Glory.
The absenceof Michael's large presence in our lives will be the most difficult part of this journey. He will be missed beyond words...but will live in our hearts and memories always....
Babe, Dad, Pa...we love you from the Heavens to Our hearts, from the Heavens to Your heart... Until we meet again....
