Michael J. Stanford, 47 of New Windsor, NY tragically passed away on July 14, 2021.
Mike was born on November 14, 1973 in Newburgh, NY and loved the Hudson Valley. He is survived by his wife Candice, who shared 17 loving years with him (10 of them married) and the joy of his life, his 5-year-old son Ethan Sean. He is the son of Gail Coleman and Step-father Bill Coleman of Matamoras, Pennsylvania and older brother to Ed Smith of New Jersey. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will greatly miss him.
Michael worked at United Parcel Service (UPS) for over 20 years as a Loader/Air-Driver.
In addition to being a loving and devoted husband to his wife Candice, Michael was an amazing father to Ethan who he often referred to as "buddy". He was an avid Gamer who enjoyed sharing all the newest technology with his son. He was also an annual Comicon aficionado who enjoyed sharing Comicon trips and the exciting experience of meeting his childhood heroes. Most especially, Adam West.
Mike was a nature-lover and enjoyed family vacations, particularly to the beach. He loved music and was a mainly self-taught guitarist who made us all smile when he often broke out his "air-guitar". He also enjoyed being an amateur magician, sharing the magic with his son. Those that knew Michael, knew him as a quiet soul, who would have a quick joke to make you smile, help a friend in need without hesitation, and loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, July 24th from 2-6 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY.
