Miriam Franceta Davis (also known to many as Marie) was born on September 9, 1937 in Portland,"Jamaica, West Indies. Marie graduated from Dalvy Primary School in Jamaica. Marie migrated and spent the early part of her adulthood in the Bahamas West Indies, then later migrated to the United States. Professionally Marie worked" as a nanny for several families. Her humble and emphatic nature endeared her to the clients whom she served. Marie had an incredible work ethic, always striving to give her best to everything she did.

Outside of work, Marie loved to shop. She was full of life and enjoyed laughing and listening to old hits music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always willing tolend a helping hand to those in need.

Marie departed from her loved ones at age 85 on May 1st, 2023 peacefully at Garnett Hospital, Middletown New York. She is survived by seven children, Elaine, Graseta, Filroy, Marcia, Rowan, Carlton and Vanessa, twenty six grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Marie's memory will live on forever in our hearts.

What a legacy, what a life. I invite each of you to keep our mom Marie alive in your hearts.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, May 11 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A funeral service will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, May 12 from 11 AM - 12:30 PM, followed by burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
