Nicholas Anthony Cocchia Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died 16 May 2024 in Boca Raton, Florida after a long illness.   He was born 19 Oct 1939 to Joseph and Emma Cocchia  in Newburgh, New York.  He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1958.   He married Beverly Anne Montrose on 28 Nov 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and they were happily married over 59 years.  He served 22 years in the Army National Guard in the 156 Field Artillery.   Professionally, he worked at DuPont as a color matcher and then at Tarkett Tile where he started as a shift chemist and advanced through hard work and dedication to the position of Vice President of Manufacturing.  He also worked for MacBeth and Monsell in quality and operations.   He was predeceased by his parents, his older brother Salvatore Cocchia and a nephew, Mark Cocchia.   He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly, son Nicholas Cocchia Jr and wife Michelle and two grandsons, Joseph and Samuel Cocchia.   He is also survived by an aunt, Edith Rostanzo, brother-in law and sister in law, Dr. Robert and Susanne DeSantis and their daughter Ashley and husband Stefon, sister-in-law, Salvatrice Cocchia and daughters Jo-Ann Longo and husband Dan DeMerritt and their children, Karen Stafford and husband Brett, and their children, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21 from 4 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, May 22 at 10 AM followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
