Nicole Monchais, devoted social worker and cherished sister, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on October 15, 1951, she dedicated her life to helping children and families as a social worker with the NYC Administration of Children Services.

Nicole’s life reflected warmth, generosity, and a love for life’s simple joys. She found happiness in the kitchen, cooking for family and friends, and she treasured the memories made while traveling to new places and experiencing different cultures. Her Christian faith provided a steady compass for her compassion and service, guiding her to approach every situation with kindness and understanding.

She is predeceased by no one in her immediate family; she leaves behind a loving circle of family and friends who will miss her deeply.

Nicole is survived by her sisters, Bernadette Foche and Yolene Olivier, who will carry forward her memory with love and gratitude. She was the daughter of Hypponite Monchais and Jeanne St. Julien.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity that supports children and families, reflecting Nicole’s lifelong commitment to service.

Visitation will be Friday May 22nd, 2026, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh from 5PM to 8PM.
