Norma Jean Falanga of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Friday, June 14, 2024. She was 94 years young.
The Daughter of Dominick A. and Margaret (Politano) Coloni she was born in Amsterdam, NY on August 13, 1929.
Norma graduated from Newburgh Free Academy Class of 1946. In school known as "Cyclone" is an appropriate name for this bright lass. When she was present, work's done well and fast.
She was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court Patricia # 195 for over 30 years.
She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, cooking, traveling, and sharing a good drink with family and friends!
She was always very stylish and a force to be reckoned with. Norma was larger than life, strong, unique, fun, special, gem, beautiful, funny with a sense of humor, a great lady and one of the best.
Nanni Norma was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, always a pillar of love and support to her entire family. What a blessing for us to have her live so well for so long.
Norma is survived by her 4 loving children, son Andrew R. Cacossa and his wife Sylvia of Michigan, daughter Elisa A.(Cacossa) Kukielski and her husband Philip of VA, son Paul M. Falanga and his spouse Paul Bianchi, daughter Dyan M. Falanga and husband William Wanamaker both of NY; 6 grandchildren Katherine (Kukielski) Mossop and Tim, Andrew V. Cacossa and Michele Afetian, Rachel Cacossa , Christina Kukielski and Joshua Weinstein, Michael (Falanga) DiMicco, Lauren (Falanga) Guida and Oronzo Jr. of Florida.
7 Great grandchildren; Sadie Grace and Cody Mossop, Gianna, Oronzo III and Elliana Guida, Hunter DiMicco and Delta Weinstein.
Many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. She was everyone's Aunt Norma and Nanni.
She was the last of the Coloni Funeral Home founders.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Gloria (Albert Sr.) Pacione and Anita (Manuel) Tejeda and brother Richard V. (Angelina) Coloni. She was married to the late Andrew Cacossa and the late Joseph Falanga.
Visitation will be from 4 -7 on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church Newburgh, NY, with Father William Scafidi officiating. Burial will follow the mass in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
