Nydia Russo

September 16, 1945 ~ September 14, 2026

A fierce matriarch, Nydia successfully raised five children, a feat that required a unique blend of thick skin, endless energy, and an unshakeable spirit. Though her health tested her body with numerous challenges over the years, it never managed to dampen her resilient spirit and larger-than-life personality.

She was undeniably the life of the party. She possessed a sharp wit, a booming laugh, and a presence that commanded the room. She spoke her mind plainly, lived her life out loud, and made no apologies for her fierce convictions. Yet, beneath her tough exterior and candid words was a deeply sensitive soul with a huge heart.

Nydia was incredibly generous, always willing to give fiercely to those she loved, even while fighting hard through every obstacle life threw at her.

She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, deep love, and a family that will forever miss her undeniable spark.

Rest in peace, Mom. The world is a lot quieter without you.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 17th, from 12:30 ~ 2:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm at the Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh NY.

A burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery located at 304 Walsh Ave, New Windsor, NY.
