Oren R. Dayton 93 of New Windsor, NY died on February 12. 2024.
Born on December 6, 1930 in Marlboro, New York. He was the son of the late Paul and Julia Neugebauer. Married to Dolores DeCerbo Dayton on November 23, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church.
He was retired from Ford Motor Company, Mahwah, NJ. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church. Oren proudly served his country for the Army National Guard as a Sergeant, Headquarters Battery 170th Field Artillery for 11 years from 1948-1959.
He was an avid bowler for many years. He was a fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees. He loved going to the Casino and loved vacations. Florida was one of his favorite vacation spots.
Oren is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Dolores DeCerbo Dayton. Whom he married on November 23, 1952 at Sacred Heart Church, two daughters Kim Ann Dayton Capwell, Lori Ann Dayton Brueckner and son in law Craig Capwell. Grandchildren James Keyser and wife Dawn, Tara Marie Mitchell, Justin and wife Kristin Capwell, and Deena Nicole Brueckner. Great Grandchildren Riley Keyser, Derek J Keyser, Jayden Capwell, Michael Mitchell and Kyler Capwell. He is also survived by his brother Paul and wife Rachel of New Windsor, NY. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was especially close to Lillian and Joseph Harris.
He was Predeceased by his mother and father Julia and Paul Neugebauer, Oren Dayton Sr., grandson Ryan Capwell, four sisters, brother in laws and two uncles.
We would like to thank his home care givers from Anytime Homecare who were dedicated and showed him so much love. A special thank you to St Luke's Cornwall Montefiore Hospital who showed so much love and compassion for him the last days of his life as our hearts were breaking.
Services at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, Thursday February 15 from 4-7pm, Funeral Service will be 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
