Patrice M. Colson
August 28, 1959 ~ June 21, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrice Henry Colson on June 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 28, 1959 in Newburgh to George F Henry and Marie Harris. She was a 1977 graduate from Newburgh Free Academy. In 1982 she married her lifelong partner James Colson and raised their family. Sadly he predeceased her in 2019.
Her most cherished role in life was raising her children. She was actively involved in all her children's activities. She was a faith filled, kind and compassionate person who embodied the spirit of a caregiver. She believed in the power of prayer & was devoted to her faith in God. She always made sure that people knew they had a friend in her if they needed it & made it a point to let people know that she loved them. In her spare time she loved to crochet, enjoy the many shows on the food network and make jewelry.
Patrice had a special ability to make friends wherever she set her feet & that is shown in how well loved she was by so many special people. Over the last few years, she spent a lot of time at Lawrence Farms & the relationships she had cultivated there were kept so closely to her heart. She would agree that they became a second family to her.
She is survived by her children Lisa Vitale (Ed), Timothy Colson (Emily), Kelli, Brendan (Kaylee), sisters Deborah (Bill) Graham and JudySeymour and brother Michael Henry, niece Melissa Caudill, nephews Bryan (Gaitree) Graham, Sherman Tracey and their children; and grandchildren Tabitha, Quinn, Jude, Chase, Jackson and Clayton.
Patrice's spirit will forever shine bright. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Rest in eternal peace.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, June 25 from 2 - 5 PM. A funeral home service will be held at Brooks Funeral Homeon Monday, June 26 at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
