Patricia O'Hara Coakley
March 17, 1952 ~ January 4, 2025
Walden, NY
Patricia Coakley of Walden, NY passed away peacefully at Garnet Health Medical Center lovingly surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and several other loved ones.
She was the daughter of the late Helen (Pitcher) O'Hara and James P. O'Hara, born on March 17, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY.
Patricia was a local public servant, working for 26 years at the Orange County Clerk's office in Goshen. Over the years she enjoyed her time living on Orange Lake, quilting, sewing, reading, cross-stitching, and doing her crossword puzzles. Upon her retirement, she went on to enjoy her time off with her family and friends, children, and grandchildren. Patti, or "Mema" as she was warmly called by so many, was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and was always there when they needed her most - offering support, wisdom, jokes, and an abundance of love.
She is survived by her loving children, Jennifer Coakley Meinsen with Josh Meinsen, and Richard "Dickie" Baxter with Patricia Baxter and his Father Richard Baxter; grandchildren Matty Meinsen, Marky Meinsen, Tori Meinsen, Allie Meinsen, Alex Meinsen; Cooper Baxter and Madelynn Baxter and their mother Jayme Baxter, Brooklyn Baxter and Hendrix Baxter; siblings James O'Hara, Sharon "ShaSha" Iudica, and Emil Roggendorf; along with beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas "Bobby" O'Hara, and her sister, Maureen O. Greco, as well as John Coakley.
Patti's love and compassion extended to all those who knew her and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm, friendly personality. She was known for her kind and generous soul, always putting others' needs before her own. Giving back was important to her and something that she instilled in her children.
In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward with a random act of kindness in memory of our Mema.
