Patricia Ann Jobson
October 16, 1940 ~ January 30, 2025
Newburgh, NY
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Patricia, or better known a "Pat" to family and friends, at the age of 84 in Newburgh, NY. Patricia was born to Madeline Barnes Tallman and Arthur T. Tallman in Malone, NY on October 16, 1940. Growing up on a bustling farm as the eldest of six children, she embraced responsibility and hard work from an early age- qualities that would define her character throughout her life.
Upon graduating from Franklin Academy, Patricia relocated to Rockland County, NY where she meet and fell in love with Thomas A. Jobson Sr. They were married on May 3, 1963, and celebrated 61 years of marriage last year.
Patricia worked as an accomplished paralegal, first employed by Attorney Lorraine Devers, followed by Attorney Alfred Cavalleri, and continued her career with Attorney Joseph Saffioti. Her work was a reflection of her sharp intellect and meticulous nature.
Beyond her career, Pat had an unparalleled passion for cooking and baking. She was a gracious hostess who loved bring people together around the table. From her legendary apple pie to her top-secret recipe Valentine's Day shortbread cookies, she found joy in sharing her culinary talents with others. Pat devoted herself to her family, taking an active role in the lives of her two sons and, later, her grandchildren. She believed in providing a strong foundation for success, instilling values of love, integrity and perseverance. Known for her impeccable sense of style, she embraced life fully, living it "her way" and always dressed for the occasion.
Among her happiest memories were summers spent at Long Beach Island, NJ where she and her husband would host annual family vacations with their children and grandchildren. These beloved gatherings by the ocean were filled with sunshine, laughter, and cherished memories that her family still holds dear today.
Patricia is survived by her husband Thomas A. Jobson Sr. at home; her eldest son Thomas Jobson Jr. and daughter-in-law Christine Jobson of New Paltz; youngest son Todd A. Jobson Sr. of Hampton, NJ; her four grandchildren: Carly Jobson, of Kingston, NY; Elizabeth Jobson of New Paltz, NY; Lauren Jobson of Alamogordo, NM; and Todd Jobson II. of Salt Lake City, UT; brother Larry Tallman and his wife Judy Tallman of Middletown, CT; sister Carolyn Lavesque and husband Armond Lavesque of Southington, CT; and sister Millie Young of Inverness, Fl. She is predeceased by her parents, brother James Tallman, nephew Timothy Lavesque, and niece Laurie Tallman.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, integrity, and resilience will continue to inspire future generations.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh on Monday February 3, 2025, from 4PM to 7PM. A Funeral Home Service will take place on Tuesday February 4 at 11AM. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan County Inc. 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY. Alternatively, honor her memory by taking a friend out to lunch and celebrate life as she always did-with love and joy. As she would say "Life is too short-enjoy it to the fullest with the ones you care about the most."
