Patricia Meredith LoPresti, 43, of Middletown, New York, passed away on August 14, 2026.

Born January 22, 1983 in Suffern, New York, Tricia was a beacon of light for everyone she touched. A loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece and cousin to an extended family that adored her, Tricia was the very definition of a people person. Everyone she met became a friend. Many of her countless closest friends dated back to elementary school, and they carried a lifelong devotion to each other. She was known for her thoughtfulness and quick wit, which never wavered during her long battle with cancer.

Tricia’s love for and devotion to her family – parents Barry and Helene Wilner; sisters Nicole and Jamie and brother Evan; nephew Will; nieces Julianna and Zoe -- were immeasurable. She relished hosting family gatherings and celebrations – Hanukkah Harry, the family's annual gift exchange, was her forte.

Her marriage to Anthony was magical as they enjoyed shared experiences such as frequent trips to Disney World, which Tricia agreed is the happiest place on Earth. She set out to visit all 50 states and achieved that. Tricia and Anthony journeyed to Europe and Hawaii.

Yes, Tricia lived life to its fullest, and her determination carried her through a final voyage shared with her family at the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier in August, when her father was honored for his contributions to the sport as a journalist.

If there was an event worth experiencing, Tricia was there. A lover of music from all genres, she regularly attended concerts and even could brag about lasting the entire four-plus hours of a record-length Bruce Springsteen extravaganza. Tricia was the “Queen of Movie Quotes” and a pop culture expert whose epic sense of humor fit the subject. She was a human version of IMDB.

A huge sports fan, the only thing that surpassed her love for the New York Jets was her love for her husband Anthony, a lifelong Miami Dolphins supporter. They did, however, share a passion for the New York Yankees, and Tricia took Anthony to his first major league baseball game. Her favorite player at the time, Derek Jeter, got his 3,000th career hit that day, a home run that flew directly over their heads in the bleachers.

Tricia also met challenges without hesitation. A graduate of North Rockland High School, she attended Oswego State and received her Master’s degree in education from City College of New York. She was not just any sort of educator: Tricia spent years working with special needs and underprivileged children in the Bronx before transferring to Pine Bush Elementary School. She devoted her career to those students and was rewarded with fulfilling and long-term connections with them and their parents.

Just like her late mother, Helene, Tricia was a huge part of the community in both Rockland and Orange counties. She contributed to an assortment of charities, including research to fight cancer. She was a member of Circle K as a student and participated in Relay For Life. Tricia always carried a strong allegiance to Jewish customs.

She also was an animal lover, and her and Anthony’s dog, Rocky, was their pride and joy. As Tricia would say, “He is part Shepard-Hound mix and 100 percent good boy.”

Tricia is survived by husband Anthony LoPresti; father Barry Wilner; sisters Nicole Perkins and Jamie Haug; brother Evan Wilner; nephew Will Perkins; and nieces Julianna Haug and Zoe Perkins. She is predeceased by her mother Helene Wilner and father-in-law John LoPresti. She will be missed dearly by her mother-in-law Judy LoPresti, brothers-in-law Dan Perkins, Jay and David LoPresti, Eric Haug, and sister-in-law Kasey LaFlam, and her countless friends, honorary nieces and nephews, colleagues and former students.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, New York 12550. Greeting the family will begin at 10 a.m. Services will begin at approximately 11 a.m., followed by Shiva at the family residence (411 Foster Road, Middletown, New York 10941) until 6 p.m. Shiva will be observed on Wednesday and Thursday from noon-3 p.m. and 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the same address.
