In Loving Memory of

Pedro Colón Bonilla

June 29, 1953 – May 13, 2025

A Life Remembered

Pedro Colón Bonilla, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and devoted man of faith, entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2025, at his home in Newburgh, New York, at the age of 71.

Born on June 29, 1953, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Pedro was the cherished son of Rafael Bonilla and Carmen Lidia Colón. He was raised in a loving home alongside his siblings— Carmen Bonilla, Olga Rivera, Naomi Rodríguez, Brunilda Ferry , and his late brother Josué Bonilla . From an early age, he embraced the values of faith, family, and hard work that would define his life.

After completing middle school, Pedro began working with his father in auto repair, developing skills that would carry him through a lifelong career. On November 3, 1973, he married the love of his life, Felicita Bonilla . In January 1974, they moved to New York City, where they would build a family and a life rooted in love, faith, and perseverance.

Pedro worked as an auto body technician for nearly 40 years, including 35 years at Clarkstown International Collision , where he was respected for his dedication, honesty, and expertise.

In addition to his profession, Pedro was a talented percussionist who used his musical gifts to glorify God and uplift others. His rhythms were often heard in church worship and family celebrations, bringing joy and unity to every space he entered.

More than anything, Pedro was a devoted family man. A loving husband of over 50 years, a guiding father, a proud grandfather, and a joyful great-grandfather, he poured his heart and soul into his family, always leading by example with quiet strength and kindness.
